Our photographer today seems very interested in different land uses in town centres and the urban rural fringe, and the impact it has on the environment. pic.twitter.com/1QnYG1nQKg

Not as lucky today with the weather as we were back in mid-November, when the Year 11 Geographers went to Walton, but still some nice scenery. pic.twitter.com/sKgxjrfQHN

GCSE Results 2022

Posted: 25th August 2022

Year 11 students returned today to collect the results of their GCSE exams taken this summer.

It is the first time since before the pandemic – and before the school joined the BMAT family of schools in 2021 – students have sat their exams.

During the pandemic, grades have been allocated to students across the country as a result of teacher assessment and centre assessed grades.

Students have been praised for navigating the hurdles the pandemic brought, with lockdowns and school closures, attending extra revision sessions during their spare time to ensure they still reached their potential.

Those collecting higher grades in English, maths and science include –

  • Joshua Russell-Walker
  • Daniel McKenzie-Barnes
  • Nico Mavris
  • Hayden Fox
  • Callum Jones
  • Matthew Fisk
  • Evie Wise
  • Sophie Carey

Proud principal Manjit Hazle said: “We wish to congratulate all our students on their examination results, especially given the disruptions they have encountered along their journey.

“Their hard work, determination and resolve are a real testimony to them and we, as an academy, are proud of them and wish them all the very best for the future.

“Special credit goes to those who attended the extra holiday, Saturday and after-school sessions; your hard work paid off!

“Thanks go to our wider academy family as we are grateful for the time and investment parents and carers have made in supporting our students throughout their Mark Hall journey. Thanks also go to our wonderful teachers, teaching assistants, support staff and everyone else at Mark Hall as it’s a team effort.

“We are really pleased that our 2022 results show an improvement from 2019, giving further indication we, as an academy, are moving in the right direction.”
