Please see below current and up-and-coming events
- To celebrate Children’s Mental Health Week, there will be a range of activities taking place over lunchtime to raise awareness and encourage everyone to open up and seek support.
- 10th February is the last day of term for this half term, pupils will be dismissed at normal time.
- Pupils will return to school on Monday 20th February at normal time. This will be Week A on their timetables.
- Wednesday 8th February is Year 9 Parents’ Evening which will take place via School Cloud.
- Thursday 23rd February is Year 9 Options Evening. Parents and pupils are invited to attend to learn more about the options on offer, talk to staff and current pupils in KS4 and some pupils who have continued onto KS5 and Sixth Form studies. Options Information Evening is from 4:30-6:30pm in the Canteen with a presentation in the Hall at 5:30pm.
- We are re-looking at our rewards offer following feedback from pupils and parents. This week, we are starting with our first hot chocolate afternoon with the Principal for 20 pupils in Year 9.
- Year 8 pupils participating in the Brilliant Club Scholars programme are completing their final tutorial on Friday 10th February. They’ve worked brilliantly with their PhD pupil to reach this exciting point.
- Mark Hall are hosting the Harlow Schools Indoor Athletics competition on Thursday 9th February. Good luck to the year 7 and 8 pupils taking part and for representing the school with such pride.
- There are a number of school-based interventions taking place for pupils in Year 11 to support them in achieving their very best in the forthcoming exams. Well done to all of those pupils who have shown commitment and aspiration. The full programme of support can be found on our website Virtual Office - Mark Hall Academy (extra support sessions).
- Additional Saturday and ‘Holiday School’ will begin after half term. Details will be shared with Year 11 and communicated with parents this week. We hope as many pupils and parents will get behind the support being offered and promote attendance.
- Please encourage pupils to participate in the range of clubs and competitions that are on offer. You can view our curricular offer on our school website in the Vitual Office.
- All pupils have access to MathsWatch which is an online Maths platform with video tutorials. Pupils in years 7-10 have been set homework on this platform this half term to promote usage and resilience. - After February half term pupils in Years 7-9 will be switching timetables as part of their carousel offer. You can view our curriculum offer at Curriculum – Yrs 7-9
